Model: 40' HC Multi-Bay Side Access (with Structural Posts)
Provider: Worthy Container / Web: www.worthycontainer.com
Standard Compliance: ISO 668, ISO 1496-1, CSC Certified
The 40ft High Cube Side-Access container with Structural Center Posts is engineered for heavy-duty industrial environments. Unlike "Full Open Side" units that utilize a single clear span, this model divides the 40-foot side into four distinct loading bays.
Each bay is equipped with its own independent set of double doors, separated by permanent vertical steel pillars. This design allows Worthy Container clients to maintain the highest levels of structural rigidity—essential for multi-story stacking or heavy roof-mounted equipment—while providing unprecedented access to cargo across the entire length of the unit.

This model is built with three (3) permanent vertical steel pillars welded into the door-side frame.
Stacking Capacity: The pillars allow this unit to maintain a standard ISO stacking rating. It can be stacked while fully loaded, making it superior for high-density container yards or modular building projects.
Frame Rigidity: The posts prevent "racking" or sagging over the 40ft span. This ensures that the doors remain perfectly aligned and easy to lock even if the ground is slightly uneven.
The side access consists of four independent sets of double doors:
Segmented Access: Users can open one 10ft bay at a time. This prevents the entire contents of the container from being exposed to rain or dust when only one item is needed.
Independent Security: Each of the four bays can be partitioned internally, allowing a single 40ft container to serve as four separate, secure 10ft storage lockers.
End Access: The unit includes a 5th set of double doors on the short end, providing access from almost every angle.
Material: 28mm (1.1 inch) Marine-grade plywood.
Reinforcement: Steel C-section cross-members are spaced at high-frequency intervals to support heavy forklift traffic entering from any of the four side bays.
Industrial Tool & Inventory Management: The 4-bay system is ideal for site "Tool Rooms" where different trades require their own secure access point within the same footprint.
High-Turnover Logistics: Every pallet is a "front-row" pallet. Forklifts can load and unload the 40ft unit from the side in a fraction of the time required for end-loading.
High Cube Clearance: The 8' 1" side-opening height is essential for tall industrial generators, server racks, and manufacturing equipment.
Partitioning Potential: Because each bay has its own entrance, Worthy Container can easily install internal mesh or steel bulkheads to create four distinct zones for different types of inventory (e.g., hazardous materials in Bay 1, dry tools in Bay 2).
Worthy Container specializes in New (One-Trip) models for the 4-set door configuration to ensure maximum gasket life and mechanical precision.
Security: Factory-installed Lock Boxes are standard on all five sets of doors (4 side, 1 end).
Paint: High-zinc primer with a marine epoxy topcoat for maximum corrosion resistance at the hinge and pillar points.
Standardization: All 18+ locking bars are manufactured to identical tolerances for easy operation.
Keyed-Alike Systems: With 10 individual door leaves, Worthy Container recommends using high-security "keyed-alike" shutter locks across all lock boxes for operational efficiency.
Gasket Maintenance: The seals around the three central pillars are the most critical points for weatherproofing. Ensure these areas are kept free of grit and debris to maintain a "Wind & Water Tight" (WWT) rating.
Lubrication: Annual greasing of the hinge pins (up to 40 hinges total) is required to ensure smooth 270-degree door swings.
Foundation: While the pillars make this unit more stable than a pillarless 40ft open side, a level, hard-standing surface is still highly recommended. Significant unleveling will cause the doors to "bind" against the vertical posts.
Support Points: Support should be provided at the four corner castings and directly under each of the three vertical side posts.
Delivery: Typically delivered via Hiab (Crane) Truck or Side-Loader.
Weight: Approximately 5.1 tons (11,354 lbs) empty.
Clearance: Ensure at least 3 meters (10 ft) of clearance on the door side to allow all door sets to swing open simultaneously.
