6. Security & Maintenance
Locking Logic: These units feature a high number of locking bars (up to 18 bars total). To maintain the structural tension and weather seal, every bar must be fully engaged.
Gasket Care: The long horizontal top gasket is the most important part of the weatherproofing. Keep it free of grit and ice to prevent bypass leaks.
Hinge Lubrication: With a high hinge count (up to 32 hinges), annual greasing is mandatory. Worthy Container recommends a lithium-based marine grease for all moving parts.
7. Site Preparation & Delivery
Warning: 40ft Open Side units are extremely sensitive to ground leveling.
Foundation: A perfectly level, reinforced concrete or hard-standing surface is mandatory. If the site is even slightly unlevel, the 40ft header beam will "rack" (twist). On a pillarless unit, this will cause the center bi-fold doors to jam. On a 4-set door model, it will make the locking bars difficult to turn.
Support: We recommend supporting the four corners PLUS support pads directly under each vertical post (for the 4-door model) or every 10 feet (for the pillarless model).
Delivery: Delivered via Hiab (Crane) Truck or Side-Loader.
Weight: These are the heaviest dry containers (~13,000 lbs empty).
Crane Access: Ensure the delivery site is free of overhead power lines; a 40ft unit requires a large crane radius for safe placement.
